Required fields are indicated on the page by a red asterisk. Provide values for the following fields and any fulfillment-time license model attributes. Then click Next to specify server or node-locked host IDs.

License Generation - Required and Optional Fields

Description

Sold to

This field is automatically populated unless the Activation ID was created using a bulk entitlement. When activating a Web register key of a bulk entitlement the user must define the Sold To field. This allows the producer to identify company that actually activated the Web register key.

Owner

Optional field. Shows the user who actually bought the web register key.

ActivationID

This field is automatically populated.

Product

Product name and version. This field is automatically populated.

Version

This field is automatically populated.

Expiration Date

This field is automatically populated.

Version Date

This field will be displayed only in the following case:

•

the product defined in this entitlement line item contains a feature that specifies a date-based version format type, and

•

you selected Specify Version Date Later when you created the entitlement for this product.

If Specify Version Start Date Later is set in a line item, a duration is specified in the line item. In this case, a version start date will be set at activation time and the version date will be computed as version start date + duration.

Start Date

After the entitlement is activated, the start date is the date that the license becomes valid and the user can begin using the software.

•

If the start date option was set in the entitlement line item, it is displayed. Whether it is editable depends on the Allow Editing of Deployed Entities configuration setting.

•

If the start date was not set in the entitlement line item, it must be set when the first license is activated against the line item. This start date is written back to the line item. Whether it is editable depends on the Allow Editing of Deployed Entities configuration setting. (This bullet is true for Specify at First Activation or Use First Activation Date; Specify at Each Activation and Use Each Activation Date are not covered.)

When activating several line items together, you are prompted to specify the start date for those items without one. This date, once set at activation time, applies to all items that did not have a start date set during entitlement creation.

Ship to email

The email address where a license generated against this entitlement should be sent: It may be the email address of one of the contacts in the account and may have already been entered in the entitlement.

•

Click Search to select an email address for one of the contacts in the sold-to account.

•

Additional email addresses may be entered in a comma-separated list that contains no spaces.

Ship to address

The mailing address where a license generated against this entitlement should be sent: It may be the mailing address of one of the contacts in the account and may have already been entered in the entitlement.

Vendor String

Enter the producer-specific vendor string.

Do you want to consolidate generated licenses?

Select Yes (default setting) if you are activating two or more line items together, and would like to consolidate multiple licenses into a single license file. When activating a single license, this option will not appear.

This is displayed if the Show Consolidate Licenses Functionality flag is enabled in System > Configure > FlexNet Operations.
